What can I say? It’s summer.
I’m on vacation this week because of all the appointments. Three down, two to go. I think.
A has to work this week, so I am free to do things at my own pace. Who cares if the breakfast dishes wait until the lunch dishes are ready to be washed? There is knitting to do!
Today was repairman day. Mixed results. It would cost nearly as much to fix the dryer as to but a new one. So, there is a new one in our future. At least we have a large drying rack.
I was not crazy, the pool pump was sucking in air. There was a clog that was causing issues. It is fixed now and working beautifully. I will vacuum the pool today and get in it. None too soon!
In fiber land, lots going on! I have been warping the loom to make some fabric that might be napkins someday. It is so much easier with the stand for the loom. The stand was a birthday present from A, and it is so nice! Fewer clamps to let go in the warping process.
I have several wips on the needles right now, and they are all getting loads of attention. The Japanese MKAL scarf has two small charts to go before the next clue comes on August 1 or thereabouts. I am through the largest chart, so think that is good. Biophilia is growing, the rows are SO long! But I haven’t got too many to go, a chart and a half left, and they are short charts. Durrow moves steadily onward, I am more than halfway done filling the center triangle.
And then there is the special order knitting. One infant hat done, one infant dress that will be done today, just have to crochet the edging at neck and armhole. Then I have to cast on the black and white checked pants.
No spinning yet this week, but I will get to it! I haven’t had time to go to work this week!!
Oh that is so nice to have the time to work on all the projects you want to:)
It is! I feel quite self-indulgent!
Perfect! Just what a holiday should be!
I agree!
that hat is sooooo cute!
Thanks!
SOOOO happy you took some time for yourself! Precious hat!
Thanks, Kendra! I needed it. Feeling burned out at work, have to solve that!
Super cute hat!!
Vacation sounds wonderful even if there are things that need doing.
I have photo storage info for you. Amazon is offering their Prime members 5g storage. It’s an option if you’re a Prime member:)
Thanks on all fronts! I am not a prime member, rarely use Amazon, but it might be worth making a change.
That Hat is beautiful!
Oh, good–you’re back on the loom! You just need to keep at it and I think you’ll see progress quickly! The baby hat is very sweet–just so cute. And good news about the pool–you’re going to need it this weekend, I believe!
Glad all is going well and that you have time to yourself to unwind. The hat is gorgeous. I love it. Did you design it? Seems like from here on in the pool is going to be a necessity. I knew summer would catch up with us eventually.
The hat pattern is from a book someone at work had. Several years old, all the yarn is discontinued! Sigh.
The pool is definitely going to help my disposition! And I hooked up the portable AC unit today, I think we will need it this weekend.
It sounds like you got some enjoyable projects in the works. The baby hat so cute. Enjoy your vacation.
Thanks! I have enjoyable but big projects on the needles. I hope to finish at least one this week! Today I spent the morning doing some weaving, though. Because that’s another thing I want to get some progress on this week. And we won’t even talk about the sewing I hoped to do…
vacation time is great!! I absolutely love the hat, it’s very cute, and the colours look so bright and happy, too! (I’m also looking forward to seeing your Biophilia – isn’t it knit from the bottom up?)
