Not Friday

But I am off today, it just made sense.

It started with an 11 o’clock doctor’s appointment in Bangor. I could work around that, not an issue.

But then we got word that one of A’s favorite aunts passed away. Wake this afternoon in Portland. That meant leave work at 10 for the MD, be gone the rest of the day.

Since I had some errands to do, I just took the whole day.

So my list today is BORING!

Vote.

Return damaged pellet bags.

Doctor visit.

Lunch.

Meet A in Bangor, ride to Portland.

Knit on ride.

Aunt Betty’s wake.

Ride back to Bangor, knitting all the way.

Get my car, drive home.

The end.

See how I snuck knitting in?

  1. I caught the knitting in there right away – couldn’t sneak it past me! Give A a hug for me. I know she is sad and I’ll keep your whole family in my prayers.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear of A’s loss please give her my sympathy. It’s wonderful how knitting can be fit into one’s day. Hope all goes well at the doctor. Keeping you both in my prayers.

    1. Thank you. She is, and she lived a good, full, long life. As always, these things are bittersweet . Good to see all the family. Glad we last saw some of them at her 90th birthday bash a couple of years ago. We need to remember to celebrate while people are still with us.

    1. Thanks, Ginny! It is definitely bittersweet. We have plans to visit the last remaining sister tomorrow. Plans we made a few weeks ago, glad we did, it feels more urgent.

  3. Oh, dear–so sad to hear about a family death! I think we’re that age, where parents and aunts and uncles are getting up there in years . . . PS Voting should not be on the “boring” list! Soooooooo important–I wish I could vote early (and often!)

    1. Thank you! Yes, all the aunts and uncles and parents are growing elderly, for sure. A lost two aunts and two uncles this year. Her parents died many years ago. I am lucky to have my parents and most of my aunts and uncles left.

A Note From Abroad

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sailaway from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” ~ Mark Twain
