Do you knit?   13 comments

Today I was at work, where the heat seems to be inadequate to deal with sustained negative temps.

I was wearing a turtleneck, flannel shirt, denim jumper, tights and the following items:

sox and allie

and wrapped in a huge pi shawl, and a new coworker asked me “Do you knit?”

I wonder what gave it away?

  1. lol!

  2. No idea why they would ask haha!! Love the mitts.

  3. Haha, I wonder…. Lovely socks!

  4. At least they noticed. I bet they were jealous that you were so stylishly warm. πŸ™‚

  5. They’ll all be begging you to knit for them soon!

    • They already do! But I have a rule – they have to buy the yarn, and it can’t be cheap icky stuff. So, they seldom ask. πŸ™‚ I have one coworker who gets it, and when she can afford yarn, I make her things. Another one can’t afford any yarn at all, so I occasionally knit a gift for her. The rest of them think I am a yarn snob, and so don’t ask. They might be right. πŸ™‚

  6. Haha. Nice socks!

  7. I would have smiled and said, “Thank you. Yes I do. Eclectic taste is a must for a real knitter.”

    • πŸ™‚ I think it was genuine interest, not a criticism of my crazy mismatched dress style. πŸ™‚ Turns out, she also does knitting and crocheting. I gave her non-verbal permission to dress warmly if nto fashionably at work. Especially when the darned office doesn’t get over 60 degrees. πŸ™‚
