When I built the cedar box for the asparagus, I pictured it full of fern-y plants, separating the pool from the driveway. I put some regular cosmos and some dwarf cosmos in with the asparagus, and waited. Well, the pool is gone, but check out the flowers!
Very pretty…
thanks!
Cosmos is a wonderful flower when it’s able to completely do its own thing. Some years the deer just crop our before they get started. This year was different and the addition it made in the garden was just like I imagined it would be. Every so often a plan and its intended result comes together.
The deer haven’t found mine yet – they are in a raised bed, near the driveway, the house, and the pool, so I think they give the area broad berth. Also, since the raised bed is a few feet high, the tallest of the cosmos must be 7-8 feet high. There is good stuff lower down for them to snack on. Like my sunflowers, which were decimated this year.
It is nice when a plan comes together, huh?
