What is it?

A dear friend of mine got this at a craft fair in Iowa, where she lives. She is not a knitter but the person who made it told her it was a knitting tool. So she got it for me, and I for the life of me don’t know what it is. Can anyone help? The little ring of beads has some stretch to it, so it could pass over the other beads, or off the string, so it might be a marker. But what would I use the rest for, and how???

  1. I believe it is a row counter. I have seen similar items in my LYS and was told thatis what they are, but can’t tell you how it works. Something like an abacus maybe?

    1. You might be on to something – there is a piece that moves along… so maybe it is almost like rosary beads? Thanks fro helping me sort it out! And thanks fro following me, I appreciate it!

A Note From Abroad
