Book group tonight!   2 comments

Just a postcard post, as my buddy in Franklin would say –

The book group is meeting tonight at my house – yea, I don’t have to drive an hour there and back to meet with them.

We read Little Women this month – a revisit, of course, for all of us, in preparation for next month’s Marmee and Louisa, which was my recommendation, so I hope they like it. If they grew up loving LMA, I think they will….

Anyway, I just finished it this morning, and I am so glad to have read it again, like an old friend. There was much I had not noticed the last time I read it, or had forgotten. Of course, it has probably been 20 years, right? And they leave so much of the book out of the movie, and the actresses NEVER are tall and awkward.

Have to confess to a tear or two when Beth died… hope that’s not a spoiler for anyone who might read it…. and I do love the professor…

Gotta run home and put out the goodies!

PS weatherman is not doing his job improving the forecast for the weekend. I guess I will be reading something else soon!

  1. I loved that book! Though I think Jo’s Boys was my favourite of the four. Are you on Good Reads? I was introduced to it earlier in the week and I am now mildly obsessed with it! I hope you have a lovely evening with your group.

    • I pretty much love everythign I ever read of hers. 8 cousins and Rose in Bloom were my favorites, though. If you get a chance to read Marmee and Louisa, you will learn a whole lot about LMA, it is interesting reading.

I don’t know Good Reads, I will check it out. Thanks fro the tip!
