I don’t usually like holidays in the middle of the week – but I have to say this extra “Sunday” is quite nice. Of course, I won’t like the extra “Monday” tomorrow. The price, I know.
We started the morning with no crying kittens! It is like they finally figured out that if the alarm doesn’t go off, the moms don’t have to get up at 4:30. I sure hope they really learned this, that it is not just a fluke.
A’s back has recovered from all the shoveling on Friday, so she celebrated by doing some more – but the easy stuff. She shoveled off the two decks while I went back to work on the driveway. The snow is still light and fluffy, so it is easier than it could be, but still amazingly tiring. I got a good part of the door yard cleaned out, enough that one of our cars can easily get closer to the house. Still cursing the snowblower that won’t start, I cleaned up a lot of the edges from where we had snow piled from shoveling and plowing. More to do, but I figure I will hack away at it. Of course, it is about to get bitter cold and I will regret not going back out this afternoon to finish it. Except that…
I went to the craft room! Oh, what joy to have really free time up here.
I worked on a patchwork quilt table runner I started this past week, and found I had enough left overs to also make two placemats. I do need to go get batting and backing material, but otherwise, I am in good shape. The runner is all put together, and the strips are sorted out for the place mats. They need ironing and seaming, that won’t take long this weekend.
I also played with the cricut cartridges A got me for Christmas, and made a thank you note to send off to Mom.
All in all it was fun. Now I think I will head into the living room to watch a movie with A and work on my knitting. maybe take a few photos of the works in progress.
I love winter days. Especially the ones where I don’t have to go anywhere!
